<p> Sword Swallowers Association International and Ripleys Believe It or Not! pay homage to the art of sword swallowing with free shows on February 25</p>

<p>On February 25, SSAI sword swallowers will be putting on free shows at more than a dozen Believe It or Not! Odditoriums worldwide, including: New York City; Hollywood, CA; Orlando and St. Augustine in FL; Grand Prairie, TX; San Francisco, CA; Gatlinburg, TN; Branson, MO Niagara Falls, Canada as well as London, England. </p>

<p>Performances typically start around 2 pm local time and culminate with an official swallow that will take place at 2:25 p.m. to coincide with the 2/25/12 date.</p>

<p>We established World Sword Swallowers Day to honor this ancient art and recognize the few people in the world who can do this, explains Dan Meyer, a sword swallower whose amazing feats  have been chronicled by Ripleys Believe It or Not!.  We also raise awareness of the contributions sword swallowers have made to the fields of medicine and science and raise money for esophageal cancer research.</p>

<p>Charles Addams, the American cartoonist who created the Addams family, has been commemorated in a Google doodle celebrating the centenary of his birth on 7 January.</p>

<p>Addams, who was bornin Westfield, New Jersey in 1912, had a fondness from a young age for coffins, skeletons and tombstones and went on to become known for the black humour of his cartoons, many of which regularly appeared in the New Yorker.</p>

<p>His first cartoon was published in the magazine in 1935, long before his particular take on macabre fun went mainstream.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The Addams Family, including Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Grandmama, Wednesday, Pugsley, and Thing, were recurring characters who originally appeared separately.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>After members of the family first started to appear in the late 30s, they were adapted for television shows and film. In one recent incarnation, Brooke Shields played Morticia in a Broadway musical.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Addams, who died of a heart attack in 1988, had been married three times and was also remembered for having a penchant for the grim in his personal life.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>His marriage to Marilyn Matthews Miller in 1980 took place in a cemetery for pets, while the bride wore a black dress and carried a black feather fan.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>

However this year ComicBookFairs has been  gaining significant momentum, and has decided to upgrade the entire site to reflect that growth by creating new:</p>

<p>*** Animation: Kids love animation and always will. Nancy Silberkleit realizes the &#8220;depth of history and legacy&#8221; as it relates to Archie Comics in the world of Cartoons and Animation. Therefore, the new website will have formalized lesson / activity plans that will be developed in conjunction with the comic book story lines within the program. <p> ABOUT THE STORY</p>

<p>A Burro&#8217;s Tale is a magical mixture of fact and fiction and is meant to whisk the reader away to a simpler time, when the small everyday things in life were the important things. The setting for this story is Old Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the surrounding valleys. Jerusalem, for the purposes of this story, has been transformed into Old Santa Fe, and the story has a warm Hispanic covered wrapped around it.</p>
<p>&#13;
<p>The story takes place at a time when burros were at the center of commerce, used for travel, plowing fields, pulling carts, and carrying goods from the market. Raphael&#8217;s family lives close to the land, and the family business is renting out burros to the townsfolk who do not have the facilities to keep a burro of their own. He is known for having some of the finest working burros in the valley, and the burros in his stable pride themselves on putting forth their best effort in gratitude for the excellent care Raphael provides for them.</p>
<p>&#13;
<p>Raphael has employed a local carpenter throughout the summer to help with some repairs around the ranch. As their friendship grows, Raphael learns that Joseph&#8217;s wife, Maria, is going to have a child. Winter is rolling in, and everyone in the area is grumbling over a mandate from the capital stating that they must all travel to the city for a census. Raphael&#8217;s burros have all been rented, with the exception of Pedro, when Joseph and Maria arrive in need of a burro to assist them on their journey. Raphael&#8217;s family accompanies Joseph, Maria, and Pedro on the trip, and they unexpectedly wind up smack-dab in the middle of the first Christmas.</p>
<p>&#13;
<p>The story is meant to be enjoyed by the total family, and in particular, leave the teens and young adults with the understanding that a strong work ethic and having pride in a cheat well done, will follow them and benefit them for the rest of their lives.</p>

<p>What a heartfelt story. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. You will be captivated throughout the journey that these little Burro&#8217;s take. If you have ever been around horses, you will appreciate the authors ability to bring these characters to life in such a realistic manner. You will laugh at some of their antics and cry at some of their predicaments. I guarantee you will be able to relate with each and every Burro. Perfect for everyone in the family to enjoy. I look forward to the next set of adventures this gang goes on. There must be a sequel; it is too good to stop here! Don&#8217;t disappoint us PJ Day, you are an incredible story teller! </p>

Wow, was I impressed. It&#8217;s been a while since I&#8217;ve read a book that truly grabs my heart and tickles my sides at the same time. After I read the book, I gave it to my cousin who is a teacher and she read it to her students and they loved it. She loved it so much, she is making it part of her class tradition every year! It has something for everyone. I could imagine this book being a great animated cartoon some day. </p>

Once you read it you will feel every little thing that goes on in this beautiful story. Just close your eyes and visualize. This story is perfect for people of all ages. Adults will love it, children will love it, men, women, boys and girls. It will make you laugh and cry, yet you can&#8217;t stop reading it. I looked forward to every chapter, a new day, a new event. I love, love, love this book. I hope to see this on the big screen soon. Read it, live it, love it! Credit also goes to the artist who captured every tiny detail. The burros are beautiful, each with their own personalities. </p>
